As families and friends gather, they gravitate towards genres that resonate deeply with their culture and experiences.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Indonesian films are well-received by local audiences<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Indonesian films have garnered a positive reception among local audiences. Based on Cimigo&#8217;s research, <strong>50% of audiences<\/strong> expressed a strong interest in these productions. A significant <strong>76%<\/strong> have watched Indonesian cinema films over the past year.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do audiences discover new Indonesian movies?<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Social media plays a massive role in introducing audiences to Indonesian films: <strong>62%<\/strong> discover films through trailers shared on platforms, <strong>38%<\/strong> from film review accounts on social media, <strong>37%<\/strong> when films become trending topics, <strong>36%<\/strong> through YouTube adverts and <strong>31%<\/strong> via recommendations from friends or family. This highlights the importance of digital marketing strategies in amplifying the reach of Indonesian cinema.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\r\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" class=\"wp-image-26655\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cimigo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Indonesian-film-popularity.jpg\" alt=\"Indonesian film popularity\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br \/><strong>Genres that resonate with audiences<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Regarding genre preferences, <strong>family-themed (60%)<\/strong> and <strong>comedy (56%)<\/strong> films are most popular among Indonesian audiences. Notably, these genres are more favoured for local productions than foreign films.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>What\u2019s more, audiences aren\u2019t just watching for fun-they\u2019re looking for something meaningful. Nearly half (<strong>46%<\/strong>) say an <strong>engaging storyline <\/strong>is the most critical factor in choosing a film, while 31% want unique narratives that offer something fresh. Another 31% seek relatable stories that resonate with their own lives.
